Around August 2020 we created the 2020 Spooks hood, which we thought would look great with spikes, but metal spikes are often an issue with them not playing nicely with other gear. So, instead we created some rubber spikes.
Once we’d shared a couple of photos other pups started to ask for them for their hoods.
We sent a few out to pups who own various types of hood, for them to push through the holes, and the worked fine.
Some good feedback helped us refine the shape a little. The original prototype ones sometimes contained bubbles, meaning the point wasn’t too pointy and some would break apart, so we fixed that by adding a special process in the making of them, and now they’re pretty awesome.
For anyone who has these, you must be brave with getting them on. The holes on the spooks hoods are only 5mm, the spikes are larger than that, but are very stretchy. Pull them through!
I think the spikes look fantastic however i wish they could be use universally * with other hoods * and be able to be pinned on and taken off with ease. I have 2 sets yet i cannot get them on my hoods due to them being a bit to thick for the holes . great product but could use a little work.
Hi. You need to be a little braver with the spikes. The main piece needs to be larger at the bottom than the hole in order to stay in, which is why they’re also VERY stretchy. There is a trunk that fits into a hole. Push the tip through then pull the spike until it pops into place.
